CheckMyKid Terms of Use
These terms govern the use of the CheckMyKid app, provided by CORTEXDIGITAL S.R.L., Tax ID (CUI) 49462266, J2024000239130, Str. Constantin Brâncuși nr. 62, bl. 12, sc. C, et. 2, ap. 25, Constanța, Romania ("we"). By using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. What CheckMyKid is
CheckMyKid is a family-safety and parental-control app. A parent connects their own phone and their children's phones with a family code, and can see the children's location, receive alerts and set rules for time on the phone. The app is transparent to the child.
2. Who may use the app
- You must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to create a parent account.
- You may install the app on a child's phone only if you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or if you have the legal right to supervise their device.
- You may not use the app to monitor another adult (for example a partner) without the legal right to do so. The app is intended solely for parental supervision of children.
3. Your responsibilities
- You confirm, when creating the family, that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children you add.
- Keep your account and family code confidential.
- Use the app in accordance with the law and with the child's rights, including their right to dignity and to be informed. The app permanently informs the child that it is active.
- Do not use the app for unlawful purposes, harassment or covert surveillance.
4. Nature of the service
CheckMyKid is an information and safety tool, not an emergency service. We do not guarantee that location, alerts or notifications are always available, accurate or timely: they depend on the child's phone, GPS signal, internet connection, phone battery and operating-system settings. Do not replace real supervision of the child and emergency services (112) with the app. The SOS feature sends an alert to the parents; it does not contact emergency services.
5. Availability and changes
We may improve, change or discontinue app features. At first launch, the app is free, with all features included. We may notify you in advance if we introduce paid features.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its name, logo and content belong to us or are used under license. Maps and geographic data belong to their providers (MapTiler, OpenStreetMap and contributors). You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive right to use the app.

8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for losses arising from the unavailability, delay or inaccuracy of location, alerts or notifications, or from using the app contrary to these terms or the law. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under Romanian and European law.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account → "Delete account". We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or the law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes are settled by the competent courts in Romania, without affecting your consumer rights.
